Martin Andersson

Martin Andersson is a researcher at Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum and Professor of industrial economics at Blekinge University of Technology. He is also a professor of innovation studies at Lund University and an affiliated researcher at the Institute for Business Research.

Research Areas

Martin’s research interests include entrepreneurship, both locally and internationally, with particular emphasis on innovation, business dynamics and interaction between new growth companies and established large companies. He also has a strong interest in the geography of growth and innovation, in particular the role of cities in economic growth and dynamism.

Martin is chairman of the Award committee for the Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research as well as for Malmö’s Growth Commission. He is also editor of the scientific journal Annals of Regional Science as well as a member of Tillväxtanalysis’ scientific council.

Martin’s research has been published in journals such as Industrial and Corporate Change, Research Policy, Industry and Innovation, Journal of Economic Geography, Economics of Innovation and New Technology, Scandinavian Journal of Economics, Spatial Economic Analysis, Regional Studies and Papers in Regional Science.

Research interests: entrepreneurship, business dynamics, growth companies, large companies, agglomeration economy, geography of innovations
