On June 11, Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum will host a talk featuring the distinguished economist Javier Miranda, Professor at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, titled The Promise and Peril of Entrepreneurship.

During his talk he will provide a comprehensive exploration of entrepreneurship, not only as a means for individual job creation but also as a catalyst for innovation and widespread employment opportunities. Additionally, Miranda will conduct an in-depth analysis of recent trends in business dynamism across the U.S. and Europe. He will shed light on the significant declines in startup and high-growth firm activity, while also delving into the effects impediments to entrepreneurship and reallocation can have on growth.

Javier Miranda is the Swedish Schumpeter Lecturer 2024. The event is coordinated with the international conference of the International Schumpeter Society, hosted by Professor Maureen McKelvey and the Gothenburg U-GOT KIES centre.
