Many economists and other experts believe that AI significantly will increase labor productivity. Amar Bhidé, Professor at Columbia University, takes issue with this view and argues that the wider adoption of LLMs could in fact reduce output per worker. He highlights the risk that hyperscalers, propelled by economic incentive, could increase LLM addiction by exploiting our very human desires and brain functions, making LLMs an opium for the people. What do we know from experience thus far? Tech-entrepreneur and Dragon’s Den investor Hellen Wohlin Lidgard have successfully built and supported several AI businesses and will bring her perspective on AI risks and opportunities for individuals and businesses.
Join our conversation with Amar Bhidé and Hellen Wohlin Lidgard live from Studio Entreprenörskapsforum on 22 October. The conversation is hosted and moderated by Anders Broström, Managing Director of Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum and Professor at Gothenburg University.
